A Look Inside

Today Venus in its own earthy sign of Taurus makes a perfect trine to Pluto in the structured bounds of Capricorn. These two planets in flowing relation symbolize going for total depth of connection in all our relationships, based on a penetrating desire to break through any barriers creating limitation in the realms of connection and intimacy. The urges in this moment are potent to allow true caring to come through; to love and be loved in return. There is also a compulsive side that is inherent in this energy; while craving and seeking connection make up a fundamental part of human nature, this strong urge can also manifest in feelings of desperation as we long to form close interpersonal bonds, or perhaps could lead to subtle manipulation of others. Because Pluto is in Capricorn, our attention is being drawn to interpersonal boundaries, and Venus in Taurus speaks of the enjoyment of earthly pleasures. This poses a question mark for relationship activities: How do you experience the joy of the divine loving nature available in each passing moment with one you love, without becoming doggedly attached to — and even merged with — the other person as a source of this pleasure? You find benefit in remaining centered in your heart, trying to always keep in mind that divine joy is never an outside job, that connection to source is accessible only from inside one's own heart and soul. And yet through what is reflected back to us by another, we may come to know ourselves more deeply. Seminal 20th century psychologist C. G. Jung perhaps put it best: "Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes."
